Back in 1981, there was the Kangaroo meat substituted for Australian beef scandal that led to the famous “Who Put The Roo In My Stew” song. Now, Kangaroo meat is sold in supermarket meat aisles and accepted by consumers. In 32yrs time, will history repeat itself and horse meat will be be acceptable in meatballs?
What do you call an ex-Pope? What correct bene-diction do you use? Would some disrespectful rats calling him Joey Aloisius be committing a zinger? Maybe he’ll just be called Benny? My other suggestion is “Prince” as I presume that he will still be a non-voting Cardinal of The Catholic Church.
This would have been the better headline for @ntnews Still, “Biker’s bum rap” was a cracker! Nothing like bottom end news from the top end. #ntnews http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/2013/01/29/317044_ntnews.html
I went to see the recently released film version of Les Miserables. In my opinion, it was certainly better than the stage version. I went without reading any reviews, except seeing a headline that Russell Crowe had to work hard on his singing. It was a great movie and one which I could see again. The appearances of the two BC’s - Sacha and Helena - were scene stealers. Russell Crowe was a very ordinary singer, at first, improved and made a great splash at the end. Anne Hathaway was a revelation as a singer and Hugh Jackman impressed. The best line “To love another person is to see the face of God.” ― Victor Hugo, Les Misérables
Well, now there’s an induction sound amplifier. They cost about $40au, no wires, no Bluetooth and produces an acceptable amplified sound by placing an iPhone or Android phone on top of the NearFA speaker box. It’s self powered by 3 x AA batteries and claims a 10-15 hour of playtime.
Dateline: 25 December.
Happy Christmas 2012 from #townsville #nq . Not exactly the most optimal weather to have home made steamed plumb pudding and custard. Hope that you are having a restful time with friends and families. Enjoy the moment!
2012 Christmas gift came early for one #Townsville #nq pedestrian on this morning, Mon 24 Dec 2012. A man, in a white cap, was unconscious between outside lane and 2nd lane of 3 outgoing lanes in front of 92 Charters Towers Rd (Doug Ede’s Party Hire). I stopped with hazard lights active, at a safe distance, so my stationary vehicle wouldn’t be rear ended onto the prone pedestrian and possibly injuring him. Rang 000 (via Brisbane, I think?) Thanks to the Townsville Taxi driver and his two passengers who stopped to assist. The taxi driver put the man in resuscitation position. The man became conscious and wandered off before Qld Police and Qld Ambulance arrived. Rang 000 to cancel callout. The man was last seen wandering towards Officeworks carrying his Nike sneakers with him.
